Olofatadine is a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist and mast cell stabilizer that inhibits the release of tylkinin and other chemical transmitters, such as histamine, arachidonic acid, thromboxin, leukotriene, etc. It is clinically used for allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, skin diseases with itching symptoms (eczema, pleuropleous erythema exudata, etc.) and asthma.

Function

It is a relatively selective H1 receptor antagonist and hypertrophic cell membrane stabilizer. Olofatadine can stabilize hypertrophic cell membrane, inhibit the release of inflammatory cytokines and chemical mediators, and antagonize histamine H1 receptors, inhibit vasodilation and local edema. It can reduce the release of arachidonic acid and interfere with the activity of phospholipase A2. It can reduce the increase of vascular permeability and inflammatory exudation edema caused by allergic reaction, but has no obvious effect on the change of vascular permeability caused by 5-hydroxytryptamine or platelet activating factor.

 

Application

Allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, skin diseases with itchy symptoms (eczema, pleomorphic erythema exudata, etc.), and asthma.
